About Me
Hi, I am Majd Abdallah. I grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, but my parents immigrated to the United States from Jordan in the Middle East. My father abandoned my family when I was 7, so I grew up with my mom and my older brother. Over time, my mom developed a mental illness that removed her ability to take care of me. We struggled with homelessness, poverty, and instability. When I was 16, I entered the foster care system. I lived with 16 other boys in a group home for one year. Through transportation services provided by Fostering Great Ideas, I met my foster family and moved in with them in 2019 - they are still my family today.
About Foster Friendz
Through my experiences, I saw the need for more awareness surrounding the issues in foster care. Foster Friendz is my way to be a part of the solution, while providing an opportunity for every person, no matter ability, to show support for the kids in the system. Why not do it in a cute and fluffy way?

- A family support program. Each month FGI provides fun and engaging sibling visits that strengthen lifelong bonds.
Life Support®
- An Adult mentor program to provide ongoing emotional support and guidance to youth in foster care.
Tutor Match®
- A program that provides free, quality tutoring for children and youth experiencing foster care in South Carolina.
